Job summary

Sentara Albemarle Medical Center is seeking an Emergency Department Tech (ED Tech) for a full-time 36-hour/week day shift in Elizabeth City, NC.

ED Tech duties include assisting physicians and nurses, performing procedures under supervision, starting IVs, EKGs, POCT, blood cultures, vital signs, and patient prioritization as part of the ED team.

Qualifications

• EMT-B or higher certification required at time of hire, or MMAC qualification.
• Current student enrolled in a clinical program with at least one semester completed.
• Ability to assist with patient care tasks in the ED under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians, APPs, or nurses with care plans in emergency patients.
• Perform basic procedures and treatments under supervision.
• Initiate IVs, EKGs, POCT, and blood cultures as directed.
• Record vital signs and prioritize patient arrival efficiently.
• Stock supplies and support ED team operations.
