Job summary

Sentara Albemarle Medical Center in Elizabeth City, NC is hiring an Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) for a part-time 24 hours/week night shift. You will support physicians, advanced practitioners, or nurses in implementing care plans for emergency and minor emergencies.

The role includes starting IVs, EKGs, point-of-care testing, blood cultures, vital signs, and prioritizing arrivals. Qualifications include EMT-B certification at hire time or military hospital corps schooling; current

Qualifications

• EMT-B certification required at time of hire or completion of US Military Hospital Corps School.
• MMAC candidates or current clinical students may qualify.
• Ability to perform IVs, EKGs, point-of-care testing, blood cultures, and vital signs.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians, advanced practitioners, or nurses in implementing plans of care for emergency patients.
• Perform patient procedures and treatments under supervision.
• Stock supplies and ensure readiness of the ED; assist with arrival prioritization.
