Job summary

Sentara Albemarle Medical Center in Elizabeth City, NC is seeking an Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) to assist physicians, advanced practitioners and nurses in delivering care in the emergency department.

The ED Tech will perform patient procedures under supervision, participate in the ED team, and support care plans including IV starts, EKGs, point-of-care testing, blood cultures, vital signs, and triage priorities.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma required.
• EMT-B certification at time of hire or equivalent.
• Current student enrolled in a clinical program with at least one semester completed.

Overview

Sentara Albemarle Medical Center is hiring an Emergency Department Tech ( ED Tech ).

As anEmergency Department Technician (ED Tech)with Sentara, you will assist the Physician, Advanced Practitioner, or Nurse in implementing plans of care for emergency/minor emergency care patients. Performs patient procedures and treatments under the supervision of the Physician, Advanced Practitioner, or Nurse.

In this role, you are an integral part of the Emergency Department Team.

• Point of Care testing
• Blood Cultures
• Vital Signs
• Arrival prioritization
• Stocking

Education

• HS Diploma

Certification/Licensure/Experience

• EMT-B with state or national certification at time of hire OR
• Successful completion of US Military Hospital Corps School, qualified MMAC candidates OR
• Current student enrolled in clinical program (e.g., RN, LPN, Respiratory, Physical Therapy) having completed at least one semester within the program.
