Job summary

Sentara Princess Anne Hospital in Virginia Beach, VA is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to support physicians, physicians' assistants, and nurses in delivering rapid emergency care. The ED Tech will assist with procedures and contribute to the day-to-day operations of a busy ED.

In this full-time, dayshift role you will perform tasks such as starting IVs, EKGs, point-of-care testing and blood culture collection, while ensuring patient safety and timely care.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or Equivalent required.
• EMT-B certification (state or national) required at time of hire OR completion of US Military Hospital Corps School.
• Qualified MMAC candidates may apply; current students enrolled in a clinical program may participate.
• Prior Sentara ED tech employment in past two years may be considered in lieu of the 3 criteria above.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians, advanced practitioners or nurses in implementing plans of care.
• Perform patient procedures and treatments under supervision.
• Assist with starting IVs, EKGs, point-of-care testing, blood cultures, vital signs and arrival prioritization.
• Stocking and supply management in the ED.

Overview: Sentara is hiring an Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) at Sentara Princess Anne Hospital, in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Shift: Full-Time (36hrs) - Days

An ED Tech assists the Physician, Advanced Practitioner, or Nurse in implementing plans of care for emergency/minor emergency care patients. Performs patient procedures and treatments under the supervision of the Physician, Advanced Practitioner, or Nurse. In this role, you are an integral part of the Emergency Department Team. Education:

HS Diploma or Equivalent

Job Requirements/Certifications:

• Clinical - <1 year
• EMT-B with state or national certification at time of hire OR Successful completion of US Military Hospital Corps School, qualified MMAC candidates OR. Current students enrolled in a clinical program (e.g., RN, LPN, Respiratory, Physical Therapy).
• Candidates with prior employment in the Sentara ED tech job code in the past two years will also be considered in lieu of the 3 criteria above.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits.

The base pay range for full-time employment is $20.07 - $29.88 hourly.

Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.

Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
