Job summary

Bay Area Hospital is seeking a part-time Emergency Department Technician to provide direct patient care under RN/physician supervision in the ED. You will monitor vitals, start IVs, draw blood, perform phlebotomy, and assist with procedures and treatments as needed.

The role includes patient transport, discharge support, room turnover, and active participation in education and quality initiatives within the department.

Qualifications

• Direct patient care under supervision in ED environment.
• Ability to monitor vitals and respond to changes promptly.
• Phlebotomy, IV starts and basic point-of-care testing.
• Performs EKGs and wound care as directed by staff.
• Keeps ED neat, stocked and compliant with safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Promotes positive relations with patients and staff.
• Completes tasks in a timely manner and coordinates care with team.
• Assists ED providers with procedures and treatments as requested.
• Transports patients and supports discharge processes.
• Assists with cleaning and restocking rooms after patient discharge.
• Attends meetings and participates in quality improvement activities.
