Job summary

Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to provide direct and indirect patient care under supervision of licensed personnel. You will assist in meeting patients' daily living needs and support licensed staff in the care of critically ill patients.

The role supports ED workflow and unlicensed assistive personnel, with emphasis on compassion, teamwork and accurate charting in the EMR.

Qualifications

• Minimum education is high school diploma or equivalent.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) required; EMT certification preferred.
• Experience in acute care, emergency or pre-hospital settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care under licensed personnel.
• Assist licensed staff in management of critically ill patients.
• Facilitate care and support daily living activities and workflow of unlicensed assistive personnel.
