Job summary

Intermountain Health's Lutheran Hospital in Wheat Ridge, CO is seeking an experienced Emergency Department Float Pool RN to deliver high-quality care across emergency and acute care settings.

You will float to ED and other units as needed, collaborate with trauma teams, physicians, and care staff, and thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment while maintaining patient safety and evidence-based practice.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of practice; compact licenses must be transferred within 60 days.
• Minimum one year of RN experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Healthcare Providers.
• BSN is required; degree will be verified.
• RNs with less than 12 months' experience must obtain BSN within four years.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate nursing care in fast-paced emergency settings.
• Perform rapid assessments, prioritize care, and initiate interventions.
• Recognize and respond quickly to changes in patient condition.
• Collaborate with physicians, APPs, and care teams.
• Provide care for diverse emergencies and conditions.
• Administer medications and treatments per policies.
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately.
• Educate patients and families about plans and discharge.
• Adapt to varying workflows and acuity while maintaining safety.
• Support teamwork and continuous improvement in care delivery.
