Job summary

Intermountain Health Lutheran Hospital in Wheat Ridge, Colorado seeks experienced Emergency Department Float Pool RNs to support high-acuity care across ED and designated units. This role offers full-time opportunities with day or night shifts and a 36-hour weekly expectation.

As an ED Float Pool RN, you'll perform rapid assessments, administer treatments, document care, educate families, and collaborate with physicians and trauma teams in a fast-paced environment, with a 10% float

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of practice with compact license transfer within 60 days.
• Minimum of 1 year RN experience.
• BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers.
• BSN is Required.
• RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain BSN within four years.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate, evidence-based nursing care in fast-paced emergency care environments.
• Perform rapid patient assessments, prioritize care, and initiate appropriate interventions.
• Recognize and respond quickly to changes in patient condition.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, technicians, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Provide care to patients with a wide range of illnesses, injuries, and emergency conditions.
• Administer medications, treatments, and procedures in accordance with policies and standards.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up care.
• Adapt quickly to varying workflows, patient volumes, and acuity levels while maintaining quality and safety.
• Support a culture of teamwork, patient-centered care, and continuous improvement.
