Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 1 year of registration, patient access, or healthcare clerical experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification is a plus.
• Proficiency with Epic or comparable EMR system preferred.

Responsibilities

• Completes timely and accurate registration of ED patients with demographic, insurance, and guarantor information.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and benefits at time of service.
• Obtains signatures for consent, HIPAA, and financial documents.
• Collects co-payments, deductibles, and outstanding balances when appropriate.
• Greets patients and families professionally and explains registration and financial responsibilities.
