• Knowledge in all aspects of registration, Non-Federal and Federal billing regulations, and state programs such as Charity Care.
• Medical terminology and computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent customer service to patients, families and staff.
• Interviews patients and family to gather demographic and financial information for scheduling, pre-registration, or registration.
• Obtains and documents all demographic and insurance information; initiates verification via third party clearinghouse.
• Verifies coverage and completes financial clearance; meets department goals for accuracy, collections and productivity.
• Informs patients of financial responsibility and collects payments; reconciles cash daily.
