Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent and de-escalation training.
• Must have current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Heart Saver certification.
• Strong communication and ability to stay calm in emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Provides constant observation of high-risk patients as assigned.
• Assist patients with undressing and securing belongings to ensure safety.
• Monitor patient status and perform safety checks every 15 minutes.
• Escort and supervise patients in bathrooms; assist with meals as needed.
• Notifies nurse of changes in activity, mood, or requests for medication.
• Utilizes de-escalation techniques and participates in restraints when directed.
• Documents patient behavior every 15 minutes and hands off to next shift.
• Performs environmental safety checks and removes hazards at shift changes.
