Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Night Shift Observation Assistant in Worcester, MA. The role provides constant observation of high-risk patients under RN supervision, monitoring safety, and assisting with daily patient care and transport.

Excellent communication in English and calmness under pressure are essential. Requirements include high school diploma, de-escalation training, and BLS/Heart Saver certification.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Must complete de-escalation training.
• Current Basic Life Support or Heart Saver certification.
• English communication, calm under stress, and ability to assist in restraints.

Responsibilities

• Provide constant observation of high-risk patients as assigned by RN.
• Assist patients with undressing and securing belongings per unit policy.
• Monitor patients and perform safety checks at required intervals.
• Escort and supervise patients in bathrooms and assist with meals as needed.
• Notify RN of changes in patient activity or requests for medication.
