Job summary

Advocate Health in Wisconsin seeks a Patient Care Technician in the Emergency Department for full-time, 36 hours per week, with a 0.9 shift from 1500 to 0330 and every other holiday/weekend requirements. Compensation ranges from $21.85 to $32.80 per hour, with benefits eligibility.

You will assist physicians and registered nurses with phlebotomy, transport, wound care, Foley catheters, lab specimens, and patient monitoring.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate required.
• 1 year of experience preferred.
• Nurse Aide in good standing or EMT licensure candidates encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and RNs with technical patient care including phlebotomy, transport, vital signs monitoring, wound care, Foley catheter placement, and lab specimen collection.
• Communicate observations and patient needs to the nurse promptly.
• Process daily charges and related procedures in the EHR.
• Coordinate communications via phone, paging, electronic, and EMS systems.
• Maintain clean, safe work environment following safety policies.
• Monitor equipment and troubleshoot issues; arrange major repairs as needed.
