Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to assist physicians and nurses in delivering technical patient care, including phlebotomy, transferring patients, wound care, and monitoring. The role requires good communication, ability to work with EHR, and adherence to safety protocols.

36 hours per week, 7p-7a, with every other weekend. Qualified candidates will have a High School Diploma, 1 year of experience, and appropriate licensure such as EMT or Nurse Aide as required.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills and ability to work with EHR systems.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with physicians, staff, patients and families.
• Ability to manage time and priorities with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and registered nurses with technical patient care tasks.
• Document information and communicate observations to the nurse promptly.
• Process daily patient charges through the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
• Coordinate communications (phone, paging, electronic, fax, EMS) to facilitate patient care.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow safety policies.
