Job summary

Advocate Lutheran General Hospital's Emergency Department is seeking a part-time Patient Care Technician to join night shifts (7:00 PM–7:00 AM), 24 hours per week. You will assist physicians and nurses with phlebotomy, transport, monitoring, wound care, and lab specimen collection while documenting in the EHR.

Ensure safe patient handling, teamwork, and compliance with age-specific care standards. Requires high school diploma; EMT/MA or Nurse Aide licensure is acceptable; BLS/CPR within 6 months

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills and experience with EHR systems.
• CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and RNs with technical care, phlebotomy, transport, and monitoring.
• Document procedures and relay observations to the nurse in charge.
• Process daily charges and related procedures in the EHR system.
• Collaborate with physicians to support patient care communications.
• Coordinate and facilitate all forms of communications (phone, paging, EMS).
• Maintain clean, safe work environment and monitor equipment.
• Perform patient positioning and lifting as required.
• Provide age-appropriate care per department standards.
