Job summary

The Emergency Department Technician II – FH role at Franklin Hospital is a part-time night shift position that supports the emergency care team with essential patient care tasks. After completing an IV course, the role includes performing IVs to assist treatment.

Ideal candidates will have CNA, EMT-B/EMT-A, or MA program credentials with clinical experience and a current BLS certification, with preferred skills in basic computing, medical terminology, phlebotomy, and EKGs.

Qualifications

• Completion of CNA, EMT-B/EMT-A, or MA program with clinical hours.
• Current BLS certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of start.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Training in phlebotomy and performing EKGs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist the healthcare team with patient care tasks in the Emergency Department.
• Upon successful IV course completion, perform IVs as directed.
• Support safe and efficient patient flow and care in the ED.

Summary

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs)

• Education: Completion of an accredited Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) OR completion of a National Registry EMT-B or EMT-A course, OR completion of an accredited Medical Assistant (MA) program with 160 hours of clinical experience required.
• License/Certifications: Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.
• Experience: N/A.
• Additional Skills/Requirements Required: N/A
• Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: Basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology. Training in phlebotomy and performing EKG’s.
