Job summary

MaineHealth is seeking an Emergency Department Technician II to support the ED team under the guidance of a registered nurse. You will perform patient care tasks such as vital signs, pulse oximetry, EKG and phlebotomy, while assisting with stocking and tracking patients in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifying candidates hold EMT-Advanced, EMT-Basic, or CNA certification and a current BLS certification (or obtain within 30 days).

Qualifications

  • Education: High school graduate or GED preferred.
  • License/Certifications: EMT-Advanced, EMT-Basic, or CNA certification required. Current BLS certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of start date.
  • Experience: Six (6)+ months of experience as an Emergency Department Technician.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with vital signs, pulse oximetry, EKG and phlebotomy under RN guidance.
  • Stocking, results retrieval and patient tracking in the department.
  • Orients new team members and students and provides educational offerings in unit.

Summary: The Emergency Department Technician II role assists the healthcare team in organizing and implementing basic department activities such as stocking, results retrieval and patient tracking. Under the guidance of the registered nurse, this role will perform patient care such as vital signs, pulse oximetry, EKG, phlebotomy and other simple procedures. Orients new team members and students and provides educational offerings in unit.

  • Education: High school graduate or GED preferred.
  • License/Certifications: EMT-Advanced, EMT-Basic, or CNA certification required. Current BLS certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of start date.
  • Experience: Six (6)+ months of experience as an Emergency Department Technician.

The pay range for this position is $21.09 to $27.12 per hour.

Compensation for part-time positions is determined on a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
