Job summary

MaineHealth Stephens Hospital Emergency Department is seeking an Emergency Department Technician II for a per diem role. You will assist the healthcare team with stocking, results retrieval, and patient tracking under RN supervision, and perform basic patient care such as vital signs and EKG.

Responsibilities include phlebotomy and other simple procedures, orienting new staff and students, and providing unit-based education. Per diem schedule and comprehensive MaineHealth benefits apply.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school graduate or GED preferred.
  • License/Certifications: EMT-Advanced, EMT-Basic, or CNA certification required. Current BLS certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of start date.
  • Experience: Six (6)+ months of experience as an Emergency Department Technician.

Summary

The Emergency Department Technician II role assists the healthcare team in organizing and implementing basic department activities such as stocking, results retrieval and patient tracking. Under the guidance of the registered nurse, this role will perform patient care such as vital signs, pulse oximetry, EKG, phlebotomy and other simple procedures. Orients new team members and students and provides educational offerings in unit.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs)
  • Education: High school graduate or GED preferred.
  • License/Certifications: EMT-Advanced, EMT-Basic, or CNA certification required. Current BLS certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of start date.
  • Experience: Six (6)+ months of experience as an Emergency Department Technician.

The pay range for this position is $21.09to $27.12 per hour.

Compensation for part-time positions isdeterminedon a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
