Job summary

Advocate Health is hiring a Nursing Aide/EMT for the Emergency Department at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, IL. This is a full-time, 36-hour/week position with a 11:00 am to 11:30 pm shift and rotating weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities include phlebotomy, patient transport, vital signs monitoring, wound care, and collaboration with physicians and nurses. A High School diploma is required along with EMT/EMT-Basic or nursing assistant credentials and BLS certification within 6

Qualifications

• High School graduate; ability to meet licensure requirements listed.
• Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
• Excellent communication with physicians, staff, patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Assists physicians and nurses with care, including phlebotomy, transfers, vital signs monitoring, wound care, Foley placement, and IV starts where allowed.
• Documents procedures and communicates observations to the nurse in charge.
• Handles patient charges and related procedures in the EHR.
• Coordinates communications (phone, paging, electronic) to support patient care.
• Maintains a clean, safe work environment following policies and safety standards.
• Uses equipment properly and reports malfunctions; supports patient movement as needed.
