Job summary

Advocate Condell Medical Center is seeking a full-time team member for the Emergency Department. The role requires assisting physicians and RNs in patient care, performing phlebotomy, phlebotomy transport, and monitoring with EHR documentation.

EMT/MA credentials and a high school diploma are required. Shifts are 11:00 am to 11:30 pm, three days per week, with rotating weekends and holidays; benefits eligible.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma and basic computer skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities with physicians, staff, patients and families.
• Must maintain and renew certifications as required by department/agency.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and registered nurses in technical patient care tasks.
• Perform phlebotomy and transport patients to other departments.
• Place patients on cardiac and vital sign monitors; perform wound care and Foley catheter insertions; obtain lab specimens.
• May start IVs if state regulations allow.
• Document procedures and observations in the EHR; communicate needs to the RN.
• Process daily patient charges in the EHR; coordinate communications (phone, paging, EMS).
• Maintain a safe, clean work area; assist with equipment troubleshooting and repairs.
• Assist with patient positioning and transport; ensure age-appropriate patient care and documentation.
