Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System in Columbus, OH, is seeking a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department for a full-time 12-hour evening shift (Noon–12:30am) with every third weekend and rotating holidays.

The RN will provide care within the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, collaborate in a team, document and communicate effectively, and uphold patient safety and quality initiatives. Eligibility requires Ohio RN licensure and nursing graduate status.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate from school of nursing.
• Licensure / Certification: Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
• For Casual RNs 2 years of experience is required.
• New grads with <1 year experience enroll in Nurse Residency Program.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care, ensures an environment of patient safety, promotes evidence-based practice and quality initiatives.
• Assesses and evaluates patient care for an assigned group of patients and develops a plan of care.
• Communicates pertinent information to team members in a timely manner.
• Documents assessments, interventions and outcomes accurately according to standards.
• Assumes responsibility for care provided and documented by others as appropriate.
