Job Summary and Qualifications

The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the department's specific requirements and standards of practice. In collaboration with medical providers and the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN advocates for patients and families and embodies the organization’s values to support an excellent patient experience and clinical outcomes.

  • Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after interventions.
  • Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers. Documents care in the medical record promptly and thoroughly.
  • Responds promptly to patient requests, strives to anticipate needs, and resolves issues proactively.
  • Educates patients and families about medical conditions, treatments, medications, side effects, and follow-up measures, translating complex medical terminology for clarity.
  • Prepares patients and families for future self-management, including lifestyle changes and non-medicinal follow-up measures.
Qualifications Needed
  • PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
  • Registered Nurse licensure.
  • Associate Degree required; BSN preferred, with 12-month enrollment and 24-month completion.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) or ACLS Instructor must be obtained within 90 days.
  • BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days.
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention or similar must be obtained within 1 year.
