MercyOne Genesis in Davenport, IA seeks an Emergency Department Registrar to provide patient-focused registration and insurance verification, collecting deposits and coordinating with precertification when needed. You will be the first point of contact for ED patients.

No prior experience required; entry-level role with emphasis on Medical Terminology, computer skills, and customer service. Evening shift, full-time 32 hours/week, with every other weekend and some holidays.

• Must have basic medical terminology knowledge.
• Ability to verify insurance and collect deposits.

Responsabilidades

• Coordinate patient registration with accurate demographics and insurance data.
• Register ED patients and outpatients for services.
• Verify insurance benefits.
• Collect deposits and co-pays and refer to Insurance Verification when needed.
• Provide admitting documentation to clinical staff and discuss payment plans.
• Ensure tasks comply with HIPAA, EMTALA, CMS and JCAHO guidelines.
