MaineHealth is seeking a Patient Access Associate I for the Emergency Department in a fast-paced setting. You will be the first point of contact, identifying patients and applying armbands while delivering courteous service to visitors and families.

Responsibilities include capturing demographics, verifying insurance, obtaining signatures for consent, and assisting with admissions and transfers. Flexible shifts and teamwork with clinical staff are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Related healthcare or customer service experience preferred.
• Computer and data entry experience with Word, email and internet required.

Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact in the Emergency Department and identify patients.
• Capture demographics, verify insurance, and obtain signatures for consent.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges as needed, including billing follow-up.
