Job summary

UPMC in Hanover, PA is seeking a Patient Access representative to coordinate all phases of the revenue cycle from scheduling and registration to referral and denial management. You will ensure accurate ADT registrations and assist with insurance eligibility and financial counseling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years of healthcare experience or 1 year in medical/billing/fiscal setting preferred.
• Knowledge of HIPAA rules and patient confidentiality strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile and maintain First Net ED Tracking Board and Hospital ADT system.
• Ensure accurate registration into ADT or clinical system during downtime with audit and reconciliation.
• Serve as central resource for ADT registration during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Confirm insurance eligibility and support reimbursement and coordination of benefits.
• Counsel patients on insurance coverage and collect payments including co-pays and deductibles.
• Provide a warm greeting for all patients and uphold UPMC core values.
