Job summary

UPMC Altoona is hiring Patient Access Representatives for multiple sites including the Emergency Department, OP1, the Hospital, and the Station Medical Center. We are seeking friendly faces to help provide excellent experiences to our patients.

You will coordinate patient access across the revenue cycle, assist with scheduling, registration, and insurance eligibility, and create a positive first impression of our hospital services for patients and families. Full-time opportunities are available.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with medical staff, nursing, insurance carriers, and other external professionals to assist patients.
• Complete the registration and insurance eligibility processes and create the first impression of the Hospital's services.
• Interview patients/guarantors to obtain demographic and confidential clinical and financial information.
• Understand the revenue cycle and the importance of securing financial resources for patients to maximize reimbursement.
• Enter information into the Hospital's computer system to expedite data collection, billing, and reimbursement.
