Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking an Emergency Department Paramedic to provide patient care within a defined scope of practice. You will work under the direction of the Emergency Nurse (RN) and Physicians, collect clinical data, assist with basic patient care, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced ED environment.

The role requires EMT license (P) or EMT B with at least one year of experience, a high school diploma, and CERT Basic Life Support; ACLS/PALS are preferred.

Qualifications

• Current EMT P license without restrictions or EMT B with ≥1 year experience in a similar capacity.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• CERT Basic Life Support.

Responsibilities

• Functions under the direction of the Emergency Nurse (RN) and Physician.
• Collects data within certification scope and reports findings to RN/Physician.
• Assists patients with basic care needs per nursing policies and procedures.
• Prioritizes patient care activities based on patient needs and unit activity.
• Performs treatments and procedures (within scope) ordered by physician and directed by nursing staff.

Education
