Job summary

Northwestern Medicine in Illinois seeks an Emergency Department Technician with Paramedic scope to support patient care 11a–11p, every third weekend. You will work under the RN/Physician, monitor patients, perform treatments, and report findings.

Required EMT-P or EMT-B with 1+ year related experience, High School diploma, and CERT BLS. ACLS/PALS preferred; environment emphasizes ethics, safety, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Current EMT-P license without restrictions or EMT-B with at least 1 year of related experience.
• High School graduate or equivalent.
• CERT Basic Life Support.

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of the RN and Physician, collect data and report clinical findings.
• Prioritize patient care activities based on patient needs and unit activity.
• Administer treatments and procedures within scope of practice as ordered by physician or nursing staff.
• Assist with OB/GYN care and with examinations as needed.
• Maintain sterile technique during wound care and other procedures.
