Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to join our team in Winfield, Illinois. The role supports emergency care under supervision of RNs and physicians, handling patient observations, treatments, and safety measures during the 11a–11p shift with every third weekend rotation.

Qualifications include an EMT license (P preferred) with at least one year of related experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and current BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Current EMT license (P preferred) with at least one year of related experience.
• High School graduate or equivalent.
• CERT Basic Life Support certification.

Responsibilities

• Relies on RN/Physician direction to collect data and report clinical findings.
• Assist patients with basic care and perform duties per nursing policies.
• Prioritize care activities based on patient needs and unit activity.
• Administer treatments and procedures within scope of practice; monitor vitals and IVs.
• Assist with OB/GYN care and code situations as needed.
