Qualifications

• Successful completion of a medical terminology course and passing of medical term test as part of hiring process.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain an organized environment.
• Demonstrated computer ability; knowledge of Meditech order entry, charge and order screens.
• Demonstrated professional verbal and written communication skills.
• Must have legible handwriting.
• Ability to multi-task and maintain quick pace as part of regular routine while maintaining positive, enthusiastic attitude and relationships with others.

Responsibilities

• Maintain E.D. medical records and entering charges.
• Serve as unit receptionist, greet visitors and manage calls.
• Transcribe physician orders and enter into the computer.
• Manage inventory and restock department supplies.
• Assemble charts and admission packets.
• Coordinate ambulance/helicopter transport as needed.
• Support Patient Access Representative to register patients.
• Document workflow accurately and maintain logs and databases.
• Assist with discharge analysis and chart assembly.
