Job summary

The George Washington University Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department’s Level I Trauma Center in downtown Washington, DC. You will provide critical care to patients with urgent and life-threatening conditions in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.

Ideal candidates have a BSN or current enrollment, DC RN license or eligibility, and ED/critical care experience. Certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS are required, with TNCC due within a year of hire.

Qualifications

  • BSN or currently enrolled in program
  • DC RN License or eligibility
  • Minimum 1 year of ED or critical care experience preferred
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
  • TNCC certification within 1 year of hire
  • Excellent clinical skills and judgment
  • Ability to work under pressure in emergencies
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care in a dynamic ED setting
  • Perform assessments, develop treatment plans, and implement care
  • Administer medications, perform procedures, monitor responses
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to optimize outcomes
  • Educate patients and families on conditions and care plans
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and research opportunities
