Job summary

Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center is seeking a Supervisor, Emergency Department to oversee nursing care, optimize patient flow, and ensure quality care in the Emergency Department. This role provides leadership and coordinates operations with staff and leadership.

Responsibilities include supervising nursing delivery, staffing, performance evaluations, collaboration with leadership, and compliance with policies.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree or higher in Nursing.
• 1–2 years of related nursing experience.
• 1–2 years of leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and evaluates nursing care delivery in the Emergency Department, ensuring adherence to the nursing process, medical care plans, and departmental policies.
• Monitors patient flow, turn-around-times, and staff performance to identify and implement process improvements that reduce delays and enhance care delivery.
• Performs regular rounding on patients and staff in the Emergency Department to address concerns, provide support, and ensure high standards of care.
• Identifies and addresses staffing needs for oncoming shifts, taking proactive steps to secure adequate coverage and maintain continuity of care.
• Acts as a clinical resource for staff, providing guidance and support for complex patient care situations.
• Reports problems or issues encountered during the shift to the appropriate Manager, Director, or Administrator on Call in a timely and accurate manner.
• Prioritizes data collection and documentation activities based on patient condition and departmental priorities, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
