Job summary

St. Joseph’s Health in Paterson, NJ, is seeking a dedicated team member to assist in the Emergency Department with a range of patient care tasks, including STAT requests, discharge coordination, transport, and basic care under the supervision of RNs.

You will use the EMR system for orders and ensure patients are dressed and logged per policy. The role includes performing EKGs and venipuncture, POCT, and continuous observations, assisting with daily living activities, maintaining a safe

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• CPR certificate must be obtained within the probationary period and maintained.
• Active PCA certificate or PCA experience and EKG certificate and Phlebotomy certificate.

Responsibilities

• Perform STAT requests for specimens and patients and discharge to designated areas.
• Transport patients to dedicated areas as needed.
• Utilize the EMR system for order entry, admission, transfer and discharge.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and provide basic care.
• Perform EKGs and Venipuncture, POCT and continuous observations as directed by RN.
