Job summary

St. Joseph’s Health in Paterson, NJ is seeking a Patient Care Associate/Technician to assist patients with daily living activities and provide basic care for acutely ill patients.

Responsibilities include maintaining a safe environment and performing EKGs and venipuncture as directed by the Registered Nurse. The position requires a PCA/PCT diploma or CNA/EMT certification or active enrollment in a nursing program with relevant coursework, plus BLS within 6 months of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification within 6 months of hire.
• PCA/PCT diploma or CNA/EMT certification or nursing school coursework completed.
• Evidence of nursing fundamentals coursework or nursing assistant training completion.
• PCA/PCT, Home Health Aide or CMA experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living.
• Provide basic care to acutely ill patients.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment.
• Perform EKGs and Venipuncture as directed by RN.
