Heart of Texas Healthcare System is seeking a patient registration clerk to handle admissions across ED, Observation, Inpatient and Swingbed. You will capture demographic, guarantor, contact, privacy and insurance data, ensuring HIPAA compliance and accurate ER logs.

The role includes financial counseling at discharge and handling routine clerical duties in a fast-paced environment. Strong typing, PC skills, and medical terminology familiarity are important; BLS certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: High School graduate or equivalent.
• Typing speed of 45 wpm and basic PC skills.
• Medical terminology experience preferred.
• BLS certification preferred.

Responsabilités

• Performs patient registration for ED, Observation, Inpatient and Swingbed.
• Secures demographic, insurance and contact information per policy.
• Counsels patients on billing and insurance at discharge per policy.
• Handles clerical duties: scanning, records gathering, and night report checks.
