Job summary

VEG for Pets is hiring an Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our front-line emergency team. You will assist doctors, perform triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing while supporting pet parents in stressful moments.

We seek candidates with a VT credential, 1+ year of experience and a passion for learning. This full-time role offers growth, mentorship, and a fast-paced environment for VEGgies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; AVMA accredited vet tech degree preferred.
• Credential as a Vet Tech (CVT/RVT/LVT/LVMT) in the practice state required; VTS a plus.
• 1+ years in a veterinary technician role; emergency or specialty care preferred.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with EMR and practice software.
• Excellent communication and ability to stay calm under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Treat every patient and person with care, supporting pet parents throughout tests and care.
• Deliver nursing care, treatments, and emotional support in critical moments from triage to discharge.
• Provide meds, monitoring, and mastery with IVs, CRIs, transfusions, and more.
• Collaborate as a teammate, helping shape plans and keep care flowing.
• Be ready to perform CPR and support advanced life-saving efforts as needed.
• Handle diagnostics, imaging, sample collection, and placement of tubes.
• Assist with anesthesia for a wide range of patients, including fragile ones.
• Utilize advanced techniques like central lines, endoscopy, and ultrasounds.
