Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group in Burlington, VT is hiring an Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our front-line ER team. You will triage, treat, diagnose, anesthetize, monitor, and provide critical care with a compassionate, patient-centered approach.

Requirements include AVMA-accredited veterinary technology education and credentials (CVT/RVT/LVT), 1+ year in a vet tech role (emergency preferred), ability to lift and work in a fast-paced, noisy environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or higher in veterinary technology preferred.
• Credentialed as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the VEG practice state; VTS in ECC/internal medicine/anesthesia a plus.
• 1+ years in a veterinary technician role; emergency or specialty medicine preferred.
• Basic computer skills and EMR software familiarity.
• Excellent communicator and calm under pressure.
• Stand for long hours; lift up to 25 kg, and up to 40 kg with assistance; noisy environment.
• Willing to work nights, weekends, holidays.

Responsibilities

• Triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing.
• Deliver nursing care and emotional support from triage to discharge.
• Administer meds, IVs, CRIs, and blood products as needed.
• Collaborate with doctors and team to maintain flow of care.
• Perform imaging, sample collection, and tube placements.
• Provide anesthesia for fragile patients when required.
• Utilize advanced techniques such as central lines and ultrasounds.
