Job summary

MedVet is seeking an Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our fast-paced ER and specialty network. The role supports critical care with rounds, triage, anesthesia and lab work, alongside the DVM and patient care team.

Schedule includes Monday, Tuesday and Friday 8a-5p with alternating Saturdays and Sundays 8a-8p. We value teamwork, leadership and compassion and offer comprehensive benefits and ongoing education opportunities.

Qualifications

• State Registered Veterinary Technician license is required.
• Prior veterinary experience is required, emergency experience desired.
• Proficient calculations (drugs, CRIs, unit conversions, etc.).
• Flexibility with work hours and ability to work additional hours as needed.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases and gather information as necessary.
• Evaluate incoming patients and prioritize based on assessment.
• Partner with patient care team regarding treatment plans, client communication and nursing care concerns.
• Provide client education including home care instructions, medications and wellness updates on hospitalized patients.
• Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and procedures.
• Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients.
• Induce and monitor general anesthesia and sedation procedures.
• Perform in-house lab testing and prepare samples for outside labs.
