Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group in Falls Church, VA is seeking an Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our front-line emergency team. You will perform triage, treatments, anesthesia, monitoring and critical care nursing while collaborating with doctors to deliver gold-standard care for pets and their families.

Ideal candidates hold a CVT/RVT/LVT/LVMT credential in the state and have 1+ year of veterinary tech experience, preferably in emergency or specialty medicine.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associates degree in veterinary technology preferred
• Credentialed Veterinary Technician in the state (CVT/RVT/LVT/LVMT); VTS in ECC/ internal medicine/ anesthesia a plus
• 1+ year of veterinary technician experience; emergency or specialty care preferred
• Basic computer skills and EMR/practice management software knowledge
• Excellent communication, calm under pressure, able to lift up to 25 kg with assistance

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring and critical care nursing in emergencies
• Triage, treatments, and discharge planning while supporting doctors and team
• Handle medications, IVs/CRIs, blood transfusions, and imaging-related tasks
• Assist with patient and client communication, ensuring compassionate care
• Operate and assist with advanced techniques and equipment (endoscopy, ultrasounds, central lines)
