Job summary

APCO International seeks a Supervisor, Police Dispatch to oversee the communications and police dispatch services on a shift. You will supervise, train, and review dispatchers, ensuring procedures are followed and alarm systems are monitored for weather events and city facilities.

You will also manage scheduling, payroll entries, training programs, and CJIS compliance, maintaining logs and preparing reports for prosecutors as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associates degree preferred.
• Five years of increasingly responsible telephone or radio dispatch experience.
• Access to KCJIS is required and CJIS policies must be followed.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise and review dispatch work.
• Train and evaluate dispatchers in police communications.
• Ensure procedures and policies are followed; monitor alarms and weather conditions.
• Maintain shift logs and update activity reports.
• Provide training recommendations and document training.
