Job summary

Miami-County-Kansas is seeking a dedicated 911 Dispatcher to answer emergency lines, assess urgent needs, and dispatch appropriate responders across county agencies. The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work varied shifts in a high-pressure environment.

You will operate CAD, NCIC, RMS, and Everbridge systems, coordinate with city and county units, and maintain essential records while ensuring public safety and efficient information flow.

Qualifications

• Must have excellent customer service skills and the ability to interact professionally with the public.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for clear information relay.
• Ability to read and interpret basic documents and regulations.
• Able to work varied shifts and maintain composure in stressful situations.

Responsibilities

• Answer 911 lines and monitor the dispatch system.
• Determine emergency type and required services, relay to responders.
• Dispatch fire, EMS, and law enforcement units as needed.
• Coordinate with outside agencies for response and information sharing.
• Maintain and operate RMS and TAC duties.
• Enter warrants and relevant records; monitor NCIC data.
• Operate radio channels and use Everbridge for notifications.
• Attend training and maintain NCIC certification.
