Job summary

Cape Cod Hospital is seeking a Switchboard Operator to efficiently route calls and provide excellent customer service. You will direct inquiries to the right departments, manage emergency communications, and maintain logs and databases in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications include a High School diploma or GED and at least 1 year in a call center or switchboard role; strong English communication and basic Microsoft Office skills are required.

Qualifications

• Proficient English reading, writing and speaking.
• High School diploma or GED.
• 1 year call center or switchboard experience.
• Basic PC skills including Word, Excel, Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent customer service by directing calls to appropriate individuals and departments.
• Handles emergency calls in a timely and effective manner in a fast-paced environment.
• Prioritizes, analyzes and determines proper routing for emergencies including Police, Fire, EMS and alarms.
• Manages multiple communication modes (email, phones, pagers, radios, overhead paging).
• Revises on-call schedules for Clinical and Ancillary Departments.
