St.Edward's University is seeking candidates for the University Police Position. This full-time role will be responsible for directing field personnel, managing emergency calls, and communicating effectively in stressful situations. Candidates with a telecommunications license and public safety experience are preferred.

This position includes a comprehensive benefits package including health coverage, retirement plan, and tuition benefits. The successful applicant must work various shifts and wear a uniform while on duty.

Qualifications

• Currently licensed by TCOLE with a Basic Telecommunications license.
• Must pass an extensive background investigation.
• Ability to communicate clearly in various formats.
• Calm demeanor in emergencies.

Responsabilités

• Receive and respond to emergency and informational telephone calls.
• Dispatch officers to situations requiring police response.
• Monitor CCTV system and maintain logs according to regulations.
• Initiate and receive public safety radio traffic.

Connaissances

Public safety dispatch experience

Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Basic computer knowledge of Microsoft Office

Ability to use a multi-line phone system

Formation

High school graduation or GED

Some college or a bachelor’s degree preferred
