City of Universal City seeks a Communications Technician to serve as the critical link between the public and emergency responders, handling emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatching police, fire, and EMS, and coordinating communications with calm judgment under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Answer and prioritize emergency and non-emergency calls.
• Dispatch police, fire, and EMS personnel.
• Monitor radio traffic and emergency communication systems.
• Maintain accurate records and dispatch logs.
• Access and utilize TCIC/NCIC databases.
• Coordinate with neighboring public safety agencies.
• Provide outstanding customer service while ensuring public safety.
