Job summary

The City of Suwanee Police Department is seeking a Full-Time 911 / Communications Officer to join our team. This role handles radio, phone, and CAD message streams, prioritizes calls, and dispatches officers to emergencies and other incidents.

Shift work includes nights, weekends, and holidays in a 24/7 operation. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, Georgia driver's license, and potential certifications with a one-year certification window; experience is preferred

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of related experience preferred.
• P.O.S.T. Communication Officer, Emergency Medical Dispatch, GCIC Full Terminal certifications, or ability to become certified within one year.
• Valid State of Georgia driver's license.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Receives messages via radio, telephone, and CAD software; prioritizes messages; dispatches personnel to emergency and non-emergency situations.
• Works in a 24/7 operation with shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.
