Job summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the ED Day Shift (35 hours) to assist nurses in caring for patients and families, support safety and supplies, and contribute to a compassionate hospital environment.

The role requires a PCT program graduate or CNA with relevant certifications, a high school diploma, and BLS/CPR; you will participate in training, data collection, and unit activities within a large academic medical center.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of a PCT program with at least 6 months hospital experience.
• CNA graduate with EKG & Phlebotomy coursework or PCT certification with 6 months hospital experience.
• BLS or Heartsaver CPR/AED certification required at entry.
• PCT online program must be completed within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist the nurse in patient care tasks and maintain safety.
• Support unit operations and equipment safety.
• Participate in quality improvement data collection.
• Ensure patient confidentiality and dignity.
• Respond to patient needs and call lights promptly.
