Job summary

San Juan College is seeking a Security Dispatcher to serve as the central point of contact for the Department for Public Safety, campus community, and general public. You will receive emergency calls, dispatch officers, monitor alarms and video, and support badge issuance and fingerprinting services.

Responsibilities include coordinating with local agencies, operating CAD and radio equipment, maintaining logs, and ensuring clear communication during incidents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a similar position preferred.
• APCO Telecommunicator 1 Certification, ICS 100 & 200, and De-escalation training must be completed within 6 months of hire.
• Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergencies and operate a multichannel radio console.

Responsibilities

• Receive telephonic calls concerning emergencies and security requests.
• Dispatch security officers and coordinate with outside agencies as needed.
• Operate CAD system and multichannel radio console.
• Monitor campus alarm and video surveillance systems and manage access control.
• Provide badge IDs, parking permits, fingerprinting services.
• Prepare dispatch logs and reports; communicate with campus community.
• Serve as Campus Security Authority under the Clery Act.
