Regional 911 Intake Solutions in Minnesota is seeking 911 Call Takers to serve as the first point of contact for emergencies. You will ask focused questions, confirm locations, and document information for dispatch teams to coordinate responses.

Call-takers may work rotating shifts in a 24-hour operation. Training, background checks, and certifications are typically required to ensure effective, accurate communication with callers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or recognized equivalent required.
• Experience in customer service or public safety may be helpful, though some vacancies accept applicants without dispatch experience.
• Applicants must meet agency-specific employment eligibility and pass required background checks and assessments.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming emergency calls and assigned nonemergency lines.
• Confirm incident location and caller’s callback information.
• Use approved questions to identify the nature and urgency of the situation.
• Enter accurate details into call-processing or dispatch software.
• Forward incident information promptly to the appropriate dispatch function.
• Help distressed callers focus on essential questions and instructions.
• Use language-access and accessibility resources when needed.
• Provide authorized pre-arrival instructions only within training and certification.
