Job summary

PHI Health, LLC is hiring a Communications Specialist in Phoenix, AZ. You will coordinate air and ground medical transports, maintain radio communications with airborne crews, and document patient and transport details in the official records. A strong customer service background and EMS knowledge are preferred.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and familiarity with Word/Excel. Training includes the Communications Specialist Academy and HIPAA awareness; a pre-placement drug

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• EMS/air medical communications experience preferred.
• Experience in customer service, marketing or healthcare billing.
• Medical terminology preferred.
• Must be computer literate and have a working knowledge of Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assimilate information to make quality decisions for transport requests.
• Maintain effective communications with crew and aircraft using a multi-channel radio system.
• Document medical information pertaining to patient condition as a legal record.
• Coordinate details of medical transports (nationally and internationally) with aviation, medical, and communications teams.
• Input flight and ground transport data into the network database per FAA/PHI policies.
• Provide outbound follow-up calls to quote status and assistbilling follow-up as needed.
• Attend departmental meetings and continuing education sessions.
