Job summary

GitLab is seeking an Assigned Support Engineer to be a trusted technical advisor to our largest Self-managed, GitLab Dedicated, and GitLab.com customers. You’ll combine deep Linux expertise, GitLab/CI/CD knowledge, and a proactive support mindset to resolve complex challenges and prevent operational disruption.

You will collaborate with Product, Development, Infrastructure, and Sales to drive fixes, influence the roadmap, and create reusable support content while growing in a fully distributed

Qualifications

• Experience handling complex, customer-facing support cases end to end.
• Strong Linux systems administration knowledge (LFCE or RHCE equivalent).
• Experience with GitLab and CI/CD, including deployment models and outages.
• Ability to write clear, reusable support content (knowledge articles, runbooks).
• Proficiency with scripting languages (Ruby or Bash).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to our largest customers across self-managed, GitLab Dedicated, and GitLab.com.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues using Zendesk, logs, and Linux tools.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive bug fixes and roadmap input.
• Create and improve support content and runbooks.
• Participate in hiring processes and interviews.
